Blenheim beach is an idyllic gem hidden in Vincentia, Jervis Bay. This is one beach that has ‘tropical vibes’ written all over it and is, in my opinion, the best place in Jervis Bay for snorkeling off the beach. This white sandy beach has a secluded feel as it’s surrounded by dense bushland. Although it feels secluded, it’s easily accessible by car or bush walk (if you are the adventurous type), has a small playground, BBQ, and toilet facilities.

There are several shallow rocky spots throughout this beach to launch yourself from and check out what’s underwater. The visibility is great, marine life is abundant off the rocky bits, and it’s especially perfect for children to learn how to snorkel or swim.  This isn’t the Great Barrier Reef, though, so do keep your expectations real!

If you live close to this beach, I’m very jealous! It’s definitely my kinda spot!

My tips for Blenheim beach

Plan a visit mid-week around February or March so you can try to have the beach to yourself.

  • If you are coming in a big group, recommend you check this Echo Blenheim Beach House across the road from the beach. For couples and family stays, check out booking.com and Airbnb.com for accommodation deals around Jervis Bay.
  • Bring the snorkeling gear, beach tent, beach sports gear, portable speakers, and maybe even a hammock. If it’s a hot day, you should be able to find some shade under the gum trees to hang up the hammock.
  • Pack a picnic and bring lots of water as there are no cafes around. The nearest café and supermarket is a couple of kms away.
  • If you are the restless type, set out for a bush walk and check out the adjacent beaches which are equally well regarded.
